The teeth and gums are parts of the body. Most of people take for granted until they start to go bad. As dental health is one of the most important part, no matter for enjoying our favorite foods or for communicating person to person. We have so many reasons to keep our teeth and gums healthy in time.
Good oral hygiene starts with a regular regimen of dentist-recommended care. This usually includes brushing with a fluoride-based toothpaste, flossing, and using mouthwash. Over time, maintaining this practice will help keep your mouth healthy and clean. The consequences of not keeping up this process include bad breath, cavities, gingivitis, and eventual teeth loss.
Tips for keep Dental Healthy:
- You need lots of calcium for healthy teeth and gums. Low-fat dairy products, fortified soy and rice beverages, canned salmon or sardines (with bones), almonds, and dark green leafy vegetables are excellent sources of calcium.
- You need vitamin D to help absorb the calcium. Vitamin D is obtained from fluid milk, fortified soy and rice beverages, margarine, fatty fish such as salmon, and moderate exposure to the sun.
- The teeth inflammation could have caused endocarditis. Bacteria that have caused teeth infection may spread by blood stream causing life-threatening problems in other parts of the body. It starts to hurt when it’s too late. The damage doesn’t have to stay only in mouth affecting gums, and the underlying bone, but could be greater, infecting the sac around the heart and lung, especially if chronic lung disease already exists. Bacteria release toxins that clog arteries and increase likeliness to have heart attack or stroke. Sound mouth means sound body, so it’s important to keep your teeth in good condition

Your doctor can examine your teeth and gums and show you the probable potential problems. For example, if your dentist thinks you are at risk for developing gum disease, he or she can explain how to head it off.

In my opinion I don’t like the whitening products. They may destroy our teeth, especially if they are sensitive. We all think that it’s so simple you use some products for a couple of weeks, and your teeth are like pearls. Well, it doesn’t work that way. Your teeth seems white at the present, but then you have to use it again and again until one day it damages your teeth. Of course, there are a few good products, safe to use, but they are probably too expensive and can hardly be found on market. I suggest you go to a good dentist and ask for advice. Dentists have a lot of experience in teeth whitening, and they will know what is suitable for you.
