I must say that putting on the braces will not hurt you, it is just wierd to have 5 people around you digging in your mouth. Braces should begin to hurt when they put on the metal wire on your teeth(If Needed) and it is delayed after when they put it on about 10min to a hour. Then you mouth will be very sore but will adjust after 10 days or so. And you will need to see you ortho doc about once a month untill they are straight and they will keep putting stronger rubber bands in and thicker wires, which will make you teeth sore again. And when they take them off, you have to wear a retainer which is now a clear plastic piece that fit on your teeth, which will only hurt to have on if you dont keep using it as instructed by your orthodontist. I suggest having it in as much as possible for your teeth will shift back to the way they were.

There are big disadvantages of Invisalign to consider. The disadvantages of Invisalign may include:

Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. The Invisalign system is for adults and cannot be used if baby teeth remain. Children and younger teenagers will require the more traditional orthodontic Braces with metal brackets and wires.

Also the Invisalign system is designed for only certain tooth movements. Your Orthodontist will need to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign or if you would be better treated with metal Braces or Clear Ceramic Braces. Major tooth movements, skeletal discrepancies, and extensive crown and bridge treatment can influence whether Invisalign is the right choice for you. It may not be.

The cost of Invisalign can sometimes be significantly more than with metal Braces. The computerized custom clear Invisalign Aligners will result in a lab bill for your orthodontist which is passed on to you in the form of your treatment fee. With traditional orthodontic Braces there is the cost of the brackets and wires, but no such lab bill for your Orthodontist to cover.

The Invisalign Aligners are removable and require motivation to be worn consistently. You will need to decide if you have the self discipline to wear the Invisalign Aligners or if you would be better off with non-removable clear Ceramic Braces or Invisible Braces which are hidden on the back of your teeth.

Since the Invisalign Aligners are removable they can be misplaced. Lost Invisalign Aligners may result in an extra charge by your Orthodontist and may delay treatment until your new custom made Invisalign Aligners are replaced. Traditional Braces allow for colors of elastics to be placed on the metal brackets. Some people have fun choosing and changing their colors. For example they choose team colors for football games, or orange and black for Halloween. Invisalign aligners do not involve such traditional colored elastics.

Some patients may experience difficulty adjusting to the feel of the Invisalign Aligners in their mouth. Before spending the cost of the Invisalign treatment, you should decide if you are a patient person who can give some time to adjusting to the new feel of the Invisalign Aligners on your teeth. A few patients may experience some gum irritation with the Invisalign Aligners. You should contact your Orthodontist to discuss the problem if you are having pain of your teeth or gums with Invisalign

I would not recommend starting with a dental assisting program. Typically, the dental assisting is a diploma program at a community college (stay away from vocational or private schools), and very specific to the field. Most dental students have at least a bachelor's degree before entering dental school. If your heart is set on becoming a dentist, I would advise you to start working toward that bachelor's degree. If you do not meet the requirements of the four year colleges and universities, you can start at your home county community college. Dental school is highly competitive, so concentrate on achieving the highest grades you can. College undergraduates planning on applying to dental school are required to take many science courses. Because of this, some choose a major in a science, such as biology or chemistry, while others take the required science coursework while pursuing a major in another subject. Make sure you meet with a career adviser at the college or university you attend. He/she will be able to appropriately advise you.

Yes, unless it is barely hanging on like most children who procrastinate doing anything about it through fear.

Taking Care Of Baby Teeth:
From the moment the first baby tooth appears in the mouth, parents need to take the responsibility to begin cleaning it. Initially, all that is necessary will be to take a damp cloth or piece of gauze and to wipe the tooth. Once more teeth begin to appear, you can use finger brushes that are worn over your index finger and use them to brush your baby's teeth.

When your baby is about 18 months to about 2 years old, you can purchase a child toothbrush and begin cleaning your child's teeth at least once a day. Initially, it is not necessary to use fluoridated toothpaste, especially if the drink water in your area is already fluoridated.

Remember, young children have trouble spitting out and usually end up swallowing the toothpaste, fluoride and all. This may expose your child to unnecessarily high levels of fluoride which can lead to fluorosis. Fluorosis, while not harmful, first appears as white spots on the teeth. In more severe cases, it can make the teeth appear brown and mottled. Although it is not harmful to the teeth, it is aesthetically unsightly.

If you are concerned about tooth decay, there is a new range of children's toothpaste with xylitol as an active ingredient. Xylitol also serves to prevent tooth decay.

You can encourage your child to get into the healthy practice of brushing by offering the toothbrush to your child but make sure that you perform at least one brushing for your child a day. Children have poor manual dexterity and will not brush adequately without your help. At most, they will chew on the brush and make a few cursory attempts to swipe the teeth if they are older.

As your child grows older, you can begin to teach him (or her) how to brush by guiding his (or her) hand. Once your child has mastered the art of tooth brushing, you can hand over the responsibility to your child to continue brushing, however, you may still need to keep an eye on your child to ensure the job is done properly. Tooth brushing is a task many children quickly get bored of and try to sneak out of. Some may comply with the task but do a poor job of cleaning.

It is not difficult to look after baby teeth. The challenge lies in teaching your child the process and helping him (or her) develop a healthy, lifetime habit. Knowing how important baby teeth are, it is important to ensure they last. Teaching your child to look after his (or her) primary teeth also sets the stage for healthy oral hygiene habits in future.

Just like a bridge over a river or railway line , the answer depends on many factors.
The stress or amount of traffic on the bridge will be of prime importance.
Likewise the longevity of a dental bridge will depend on which teeth are bridged, the condition of the supporting teeth, the health of the gums and associated structures. The dietary habits of the wearer etc. And just as importantly, the material used in fabrication of the bridge.
So you see it's not like you can say " a bridge will last such a number of years"
The answer simply would be "It depends"

Dental Care Using Dental Bridge
Dental bridges can be divided into three broad categories: traditional bridges, cantilever bridges and Maryland bonded bridges. These bridges are used for dental care depending on the condition of a person's teeth. If properly taken care of, a dental bridge can last between 5 and 15 years and sometimes even longer.
As the effectiveness of the dental bridge for dental care, irrespective of its type, depends to a large extent on the condition of the remaining teeth, it is essential to take proper dental care and care of them and keep them strong and healthy. It should not be forgotten that the surrounding teeth form the foundation of the dental bridge and therefore need adequate dental care.
One should begin to take care of dental bridge at this stage itself. At this time, the person involved must avoid any foods that are hard or sticky which are likely to damage or dislodge this temporary arrangement.
